Ancillary Estates
Many individuals own property outside of their primary state of residence. Ancillary probate is an additional, secondary probate process that’s required when a decedent owned property in a state other than their home state. Depending on the circumstances an additional personal representative may be required to probate the decedent’s will in the foreign jurisdiction. This process is usually not overly complicated but does warrant the facilitation of filing the proper documents with the probate court.
